What’s on Stage

****

“Little Shop of Horrors, delivers another splendid dose of musical fringe theatre. James Baker's direction is once again a marvel - he fully utilises the attic space of the iconic Salford pub - using a faux brick wall and gauze panels to shield a magnificent four piece live band and the seating positioned on each side of the stage really allows the audience to feel immersed in the action from beginning to end”.

Musical Theatre Review

“…once the lights go down you forget you are in a room above a pub – and fittingly, running at a tight two hours, really provides audiences with the very definition of a bite-sized musical treat”.

The Good Review British Theatre Guide

“If it’s Baker's intention is to enter his new post at the Kings with a bang and show what is possible with this space, he's certainly achieved that. It's a great show with bags of humour, some great pop songs you'll certainly go out singing (and a few less memorable ones) and a man-eating plant. What more could you want in a Christmas show?”

Winner of the best fringe production 2015 - MTA Awards

Manchester Theatre Awards
*****

Baker draws an earthy, bawdy quality from the play. James Baker’s production allows few llusions; the audience is aware from the start that the characters are mired in self deception. Assembled Junk has produced a pitch-perfect version of an iconic northern classic.
